Every January, Community Music School presents a concert that features music from throughout the world on harps of all kinds. This year’s concert includes solo performances by Jesse Autumn, Jennifer Cass, Shelley Phillips, and our special guest Calvin Arsenia. Also performing will be the all-ages Community Music School Harp Orchestra. A harp “petting zoo” is available during intermission for the harp-curious.
Arsenia’s angelic stylings on voice and harp create rare harmonies and arrangements that look past the boundaries of his traditional gospel and classical upbringing. He’s been described as “Jeff Buckley meets Nina Simone with this soul of Sam Cooke, and the sparkle of Bjork.”
