Celtic at the Brewery

Sunday, September 21st, 2025, 2:00pm–5:00pm

Steel Bonnet Brewing Company, 20 Victor Square Ext B, Scotts Valley, CA

Come enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the dog-friendly Steel Bonnet beer garden while listening to some great live music from throughout the Celtic world. We’ll finish with a traditional Irish session, where audience members can bring their instruments and join the performers in playing tunes. An assortment of beer and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase, as well as charcuterie plates, cheese and cracker assortments, warm pretzels, popcorn, and cookies.

Join the Weeds Duo in celebrating Community Music School. This West Coast up-and-coming ensemble will take you on a musical journey which begins and ends in ancient Ireland. While rooted in the Irish tradition, our trip will ‘cross the pond’ into the United States where these two accomplished instrumentalists will explore folk seasonings from Appalachian mountain hollers to occasional hints of modern jazz. The performance will also weave in cutting edge modern Celtic compositions. Hailing from Carmel, California, the Weeds Duo consists of fiddler John Weed (Molly’s Revenge/New String Project) and son Evan Weed (Celtic harp, piano, melodica). Hearing driving Irish jigs, reels, and slower heartfelt selections, you’ll leave uplifted, knowing the future is in good hands as the Weeds Duo raises your spirits, honoring this tradition with a vital, new voice.

Cost: $30 in advance, $35 at the door, $10 for college students and those 18 and under. All proceeds from ticket and food sales go towards funding Community Music School's youth programming, to keep it affordable to local families.
